Today Technology has become an integral part of life whether you are a student, a farmer, a doctor, or a teacher name it, technology can create richer learning environments and improve learning outcomes.

By collecting, archiving, and documenting various technology artifacts that dominated our past, we’re creating a platform for learning and research. To discover something new we must study the Old, to invent the future we must understand the past.

From the 1980s, conservation and the role of museums were redefined. The perception of heritage moved away from artefacts and monuments alone to include ‘living museums’ and the ‘intangible’ heritage, the body of knowledge, traditions, customs, skills, and even values, that are so important in defining people, communities, and nations, and without which the physical aspects of one’s heritage are devoid of much meaning.

The social evolution of Uganda, East Africa, and the World at large have been greatly shaped by Technology, it's therefore our goal to appreciate, recognize, document, and share that heritage.

In an increasingly competitive tourist market with demand resulting from growing specificities, the integration of museological spaces as patrimonial and cultural elements in the supply of tourist destinations is an important factor in differentiation and development.

eMoT will be a unique landmark showcasing the technological heritage that has shaped Uganda, East Africa, and the World.

As the dash towards ‘modernity’ sweeps anything older in its wake, and as public and private resource focus on meeting immediate ‘basic needs’, eMoT Museum will play an essential role in preserving our technology heritage in a quickly changing environment.

At eMoT we intend to scour all government agencies tracking down, collecting, and documenting all technology heritage that shaped Uganda’s political and social space before they are auctioned off to scrap yards.

eMoT together with the various arms of government will focus on ensuring that our cultural roots as a country remain available to the future.
